Susan and John Daniels are the new owners and your on-site hosts of the Sherburne Inn. Married just two years ago on Nantucket, we approach our hospitality venture with an insiders perspective and a love of our Inland home.

Susan grew up in Westport, Ct. and attended schools and college in New England before moving to Southern California. She first started vacationing on Nantucket as a young child and has visited almost every year since. After years on the sales side in publishing she took a right turn into hospitality, first as a Manager of Guest Services at a destination SPA, and then, after moving to Nantucket in 2001, managing several small Inns. She is an accomplished Nantucket Lightship Basket weaver and teacher.

John has always lived in New England, except for stints in Europe, and like Susan, washed-ashore on Nantucket in 2001. For over 25 years he was a globe-trotting Management Consultant eventually becoming an IBM Business Consulting Vice President. He is on the Board of the Nantucket Maria Mitchell Association as well as the Artist’s Association of Nantucket.

We share a passion for Nantucket’s cultural arts, jogging, yoga, playing golf, and love to hike the Island’s wind swept moors, ride its miles of bike paths, and comb its pristine beaches. We look forward to welcoming each of our guests with sherry or tea and Susan’s home baked cookies every day at 5 pm and sharing our insights into the best of all that Nantucket has to offer.
